  • The English started to rise in power in the 1800's
  • Elizabeth l
  • Henry VIII is the most famous English ruler of all time. He desperately wanted a son to carry his dynasty on but failed with all of his 6 marriages. As a result, he separated from most of his ex-wives and beheaded some. The pope refused a "divorce" which resulted in Henry creating the Anglican Church.
  • Henry VlI
  • Mary lived a rough childhood. Her parents divorced and was tried to be convinced into a forced marriage. She wanted to convert protestant England catholic but many people refused. She then killed hundreds of protestants and was eventually named "Bloody Mary."
  • When did it end?
  • Elizabeth l was Mary's half sister. She was protestant unlike her half sister Mary and converted England to protestant again. She is considered one of England's greatest leaders.
  • Before Henry was crowned king, he married an member of a rival family. He strongly enforced the English kingdom and left a great monarchy after his death .
  • The dynasty ended after Elizabeth the first's death since there were no rulers left after that.
