  • Hello! My name is Joel and you wonder why I am here?
  • Well, today I am going to talk about the fermentation process and how it is used in our day to day
  • Fermentation is a catabolic process of incomplete oxidation, totally anaerobic, the final product being an organic compound.
  • In living beings, fermentation is an anaerobic process and it does not involve the mitochondria or the respiratory chain. They are typical of microorganisms, such as some bacteria and yeasts.
  • Fermentations can be:Natural, when environmental conditions allow the interaction of microorganisms and suscptible organic substrates
  • Or artificial, when man favors conditions and the referred contact.
