  • That includes you Newspapers, wills, and even your playing cards !
  • How are we supposed to pay taxes on cards, if I don't make much money ?!?!

  • This is unacceptable ! We need to create a resolution declaring that the only and sole exclusive right and power to lay taxes on its citizens !!

  • The British decided to create a new law making it that so almost every printable item sold was taxed.

  • We need to demand parliament to repeal this law, we are losing so much money from the boycott !!

  • The colonists started to work together and sent a statement to the king and Parliament declaring that only colonial assemblies could tax the colonists.
  • People in colonial cities urged merchants to boycott British goods in protest.
  • The British were losing so much money from the boycott, they demanded parliament to repeal the Stamp Act. In March 1766, Parliament repealed the law. But it also passed the Declaratory Act, stating that it had the right to tax and make decisions for the British colonies in all cases.
