We’ve already conquered all of England, so I think I’m going to turn my kingdom into a democracy.
But, before we do that, our kingdom’s campaign finances are all messed up! We gotta fix them!
I relate to that! Remember that one movie I was in? With the swords?
Not everything is about you.
The first problem to discuss is FECA. I know many of our merchants work really hard, but what if a thief stabs you on the job? FECA will protect you and give you compensation!
So I heard about something called the FEC Act of 1971. What’s the difference between that and FECA?
The FEC Act of 1971 focuses on making sure that there is campaign honesty between the candidate and the people, so that everyone can see the campaign finances.
Someone was talking about this case, Buckley v Valeo, and I was wondering if you could explain that?
Buckley v Valeo is a court case that struck down FECA, and this happened in a land far, far away. Who knows what those savages are doing?
Oh, but also, what is McCain-Feingold/BCRA? My friend was talking about it, and I didn’t want to seem like I didn’t know what they were talking about…
*sighs* Okay, I guess you guys really want to know what all these rules and court cases are abroad. McCain-Feingold/BCRA involved changes to federal campaign finance law, and it honestly just caused a lot of issues in the end. What other questions do you guys have on stuff you’ve heard?
