  • George and Lennie run away from Weed after Lennie harassed a women. They are looking for work.
  • On page 7 George says to Lennie " An' you ain't gonna do no bad things like you done in Weed, neither." And George says in the first chapter "Jus' wanted to feel that girl's dress--jus' wanted to pet it like it was a mouse-- Well, how the hell did she know you jus' wanted to feel her dress? She jerks back and you hold on like it was a mouse. She yells and we got to hide in a irrigation ditch all day with guys lookin' for us, and we got to sneak out in the dark and get outta the country. All the time somethin' like that--all the time."
  • Now Lennie, You ain't gonna be doing stuff like u did in weed?
  • George and Candy decide to share their money. Candy has lots of money and they just need to work for a little longer
  • *Crickets Crickets Crickets*
  • Candy tells George that he has a secret stash of money - three-hundred and fifty dollars - and offers to give it to them if they'll let him live on their farm and work as a housekeeper.
  • I'll give you the money only if i can come along... Deal?
  • This is bad, this is bad.
  • In chapter 5, Lennie is playing with the puppy then he got when it decides to bite. Lennie got mad and bounced the puppy, the puppy then dies. Lennie gets mad and sits down. Curley's wife then enters. After awhile Lennie talks to Curley's wife. Lennie tells her that he likes soft things. She then lets him touch her hair. After awhile she pulls away but Lennie holds on, Lennie breaks her neck.
  • What a jerk
  • In chapter 1, George tells Lennie if he ever gets into trouble to just go hide by the little pond they found. Lennie knowing he did something bad runs away
  • George ain't gonna let me tend no rabbits. Maybe I'll say i found them bodies, but what about the rabbits?!
  • On page 106, George finds Lennie sitting by the bank. He isn't mad at him he just tells Lennie to look away and picture the farm. In the middle of a sentence George shoots him in the head with a gun, and Lennie falls. He shot him because George knew Lennie wouldn't get out of this problem and was to nice to let someone else like Curley kill the man HE was responsible for.
  • But not us George! We got each other! I got you and you got me!
  • Rabbits
  • Some people ain't go nobody.
