Hi, I am Grace Urbin reporting for the Lovejoy News Network in the comfort of my home due to social distancing practices. Today I will be touching on how Lovejoy ISD has been taking precautions to COVID-19.
First off, Lovejoy High School has been updating the community very frequently with emails and youtube videos regarding the cancellations of school. Right now, Governor Abbott has taking precautions in to consideration, and has cancelled all school until May 4th, at least.
In addition to school cancellation, Lovejoy has decided to have all three meals available to families who depend on their schools cafeteria for their children, and now is not accessible to them.
During this pandemic, teachers and students are having to adapt to e-learning. This means videos put out by teachers, increased use in google classroom, and zoom classes to make sure students are still getting the learning they need.
Students are having to come up with an at home routine to complete online learning with a schedule to get everything done, and a quiet place to focus, I know I am! In addition, students need to be accountable for their work and ask any questions on teachers office hours on zoom.
This is Grace reporting for the Lovejoy ews Network giving you coverage on Lovejoy ISD and the pandemic.
