  • The Giver Scene #3
  • We're almost there Gabe!
  • Jonas gets home and he realizes that Gabe is not there. In this scene when Jonas gets home from being with The Giver realizes Gabe is not home. This is very significant because Jonas's father has kept Gabe for a while and him and Jonas had gotten closer. In this novel, Gabe is very important because he is the cause escaping early. Jonas leaving this early is very dangerous because Jonas was supposed to have more memories given to him plus more supplies but he does the for the sake of Gabe's life.
  • Jonas is sitting on the bed and waiting for The Giver to send him his first memory. In this scene The Giver is giving Jonas, the new Receivor of Memory, His very first memory. Jonas cannot fully see color yet. Now that Jonas is the Receivor of Memory he is not allowed to share his memories. He is also allowed to lie, and be rude. This is significant because this job is the most honorable job in the community. Jonas has to keep these memories and him only because if the memories are shared with the community it makes the Sameness in the community pointless.
  • Jonas and Gabe are on a bike on the way to the Barrier of Memory.
