Many have said that funding in the arts is useless, but is it really?
This claim is hard to believe considering the benefits an arts education can lead to .
These can include but are not limited to; increased success in life, a higher rate of civic engagement, and ensuring a better future for the U.S. by creating more creative and well-rounded citizens
Although even with these benefits in mind people still find a fault with this idea, funding, however this is a problem that can be easily be overcome.
In 2012 the money given by the U.S. government was nearly one hundred and fourty-six million dollars, but that looks like pocket change compared to the one point seven trillion with a "t" was allocated for defense spending alone in 2011 the government could probably spare just a little more to the arts.
In conclusion, arts education in public schools could bring along some serious benefits to the U.S. ,so next time there’s a vote or a petition to include art education in the required curriculum, consider taking a stand to improve the country’s school systems and future.
