Storyboard Text

  • Already wet from warming up in the rain, we went to the starting line. We thought about what our coach had told us and we were ready to give it our all and attempt to make history! Soon the gun went off and we were on our way!
  • Start
  • This is it!
  • Although Hopkinton was our big competition, we still had to focus on the eight other teams we were facing as well. I made my way through the course, and soon I reached the final stretch. One of my teammates won the race and the others ahead of me did well, but it wasn't enough. I thought I'd be all set...
  • Almost there! Keep going!
  • But I was about face a challenge that will decide this meet. I saw my coach standing on the side of the course letting me know I had to push harder. I realized we were in trouble and I couldn't mess this up. Not wanting to let my teammates down I did the only thing I could, run faster!
  • You Gotta Go! C'mon! Let's go!!!
  • Ahh! Can't blow it now!
  • So I sprinted as fast as I could, and I began to pass one guy after another, eventually passing eight before crossing the finish line placing 29th. I fell to the ground tired from giving everything I had to the race. However my teammates and I got the good news that we had won our first TVL Championship!
  • !!!
  • Gotta do this for coach and the team!
  • Hooray!
  • Awesome!
  • Wow! We made history!
  • It turns out that when I passed those 8 guys I had won us the meet! Everyone was very proud of me but I was just happy that I had pushed myself to do it! Norton had finally got it's first Cross Country TVL Championship win!
  • Wow! I did it! I can't believe it!
  • I couldn't let you down Coach!
  • You showed a lot of heart out there!!!
  • Contrary to my belief, I ended up playing a huge role in the meet! Not only had we beat Hopkinton but they only tied for second! It was a great day and I learned how although reaching a goal can involve hard work and sacrifice, it is worth it in the end!
