Storyboard Text

  • Greeting Parents and Students
  • Good morning parents and class! Welcome! My name is Miss. Cordova and I'll be your children's teacher. Thank you parents for being here! We are going to walk into our classroom and get familiar with it.
  • Get To Know Our Classroom
  • Welcome to Miss. Cordova Class
  • Mommy, "I love my class"
  • Once again welcome to our classroom parents and students. Fell free to walk around and if you have any questions let me know.
  • ART
  • Building Good Relationships
  • Parents and students, here we have the art area. Children also will have the opportunity to use art, be creative, and express their feelings.
  • Rules: 1)-------- 2)-------- 3)--------
  • *You are creative *You are an artist *You have imagination
  • What do "Rules" mean? Children answers: - - -
  • I believe that greeting parents and students the first day school is very important, so parents get to know the teacher and viceversa. Here, I'll ask parents to enter in the classroom for a few minutes (just for their children to be confortable and get to know the classroom). Then we'll have the class started.
  • Classroom Rules and Expectations
  • -Be Kind -Be Responsable -Make Good Decisions -Make Good Choices
  • Rules:
  • Parents will have the opportunity to get to know the classroom and at the same time to form relationships between parents and teacher. Forming good relationships the first day of school is very important, so parents, teachers, and children can feel comfortable.
  • Reinforcing Rules
  • During this time, I will take time to introduce some areas such as art, and discuss what children will learn. Here is where I'll dismiss parents and I'll ask children to find their chair which will have their names and once they are ready, we'll discuss our classroom rules and expectations.
  • Reflection about Rules and Dismiss Time
  • I took turns with my friend teacher!
  • What do "Rules" mean? Children answers: - - -
  • -Be Kind -Be Responsible -Make Good Decisions -Make Good Choices
  • Rules
  • During this time, I will give children the opportunity to express themselves and share what they know about "rules" I think is very important to write their answers and finally come up with the list of rules and expectations in the classroom created by them and teacher.
  • "I know teacher, a rule is listen to the teacher"
  • "I think a rule is no screaming in the classroom"
  • "I know teacher, I know, a rule is talking turns and no hitting"
  • Yes teacher, I picked an interested book it talks about being kind to others.
  • It's very important to reinforce rules, not only when children are misbehaving, but also when they are doing a great job inside or outside the classroom. While doing this, children motivate more and participate more in different activities and of course following their own rules that they created.
  • I see that everyone is working quietly, you guys have being responsible and are making good decisions.
  • At the end of class is very important to reflect how their day was and discuss about the expectations of the class. By doing this, children will have the opportunity to share if they followed the rules and the expectations of the class. At the end, teacher will dismiss the class with a positive feedback. This way children motivate themselves and come with the same enthusiasm for them next day.
  • I saw that everybody did a great job today, you were applying the rules you just created.
  • Yes teachers, listened to you!
  • I made good choices teacher!
