The first scene I picked was when Montag would meet Clarice every day and talk. Clarice saw the world in a different way than most people in the society. She thinks about life with a simplicity that he finds intriguing. She is the first person to show Montag how important reading and literature is. Clarice represents the kind of person Montag wants to become.
The second scene I picked was when the fire crew got called to a house where the old woman refused to leave and burned to death. This is important because it was the event that made him begin to question his way of life. That night when he came home he questioned his relationship with Mildred and his career as a fireman. This was also the first time we knew about that Montag stole a book from a house.
The third scene I chose was when Mildred reported Montag for keeping books in his house. This showed how Mildred really didn't love Montag. When the firemen arrived at their house Mildred just left the house and went right to the cab saying that her "family" was gone. she is referring to the screens as her family. This shows how their society is so corrupt and how our society is showing similarities today.
