Jerome is a young man who discovers that his father had died to a tragic death. He is embarrassed by the story. He thinks of ways to tell the story without making it funny
The setting was the rural side of Italy and it took place during school. Some characters in the were Jerome, his aunt, and Mr. Wordsworth. Two events are when Jerome meet the principal to tell the story and the kids picking on Jerome.
The main conflict is Jerome tell the principle about his father death. The kids pick on him and call him names. His fear is that people will not respect who his father was.
Jerome try to tell Sally about the story. His aunt tell her the story and he fell nervous about her reaction. She doesn't react in a bad way, so he is happy.
"A Shocking Accident" is a good story. The theme is that you don't have to be embarrassed by your accidents. Someone will be there for you.
