- Tecumseh was born in a small village of the Shawnee Tribe in 1768 near Springfield, Ohio.
- Oh no!
- When Tecumseh was a child his father was killed in a battle with the white man over the land of the Ohio Valley.
- Hail to the chief!
- Shortly after his father's death the Shawnee tribe split up and his mother left Tecumseh to be raised by his sister.
- We need to stick together!
- As Tecumseh grew older he became known as a brave warrior and fought in many raids against the encroaching white man.
- Tecumseh became chief of the Shawnee tribe and with his brother Tenskwatawa the prophet they established a town call Prophetstown.
- Tecumseh urged his people to unite against the white man to preserve their culture and prevent tribes from giving up land to the United States.
