One fine day, whilst the Queen was on her daily ride, she happened upon a castle. She crept inside to find a sleeping man.
You are the most beautiful man I have ever laid eyes upon! Awake so that I may know all of your beauty!
The Queen arrived and was surprised to find Tom awake, and with children at that. She stayed a few days and "formed a great league and friendship" with the three.
Alas, the man would not awake, so the Queen watched him a while before taking her leave
Some time after the Queen had left, two twins wandered in. One was brave enough to suck on the finger of the sleeping man...
The man, Tom, awoke and looked around in awe, finding two strange children by his bedside having sucked the cursed flax out of his finger. He decided to care for them, and named them Sol and Luna.
It had been some time, and the queen had forgotten all about the mysterious sleeping man. She suddenly remembered and took off for the old castle again.
After returning to the castle, the Queen began to murmur the names of Tom, Luna, and Sol. Her Stepfather overheard her and asked the queen's secretary who these people were.
The king sent word to Tom posing as the Queen "missing the children" in a devious plot to kidnap and cook the twins.
The King soon received the children from Tom, who was lead to believe that the Queen merely wished to see them, and gave them to the cook so they may be cooked.
Promptly following receiving this horrid order, the cook went to his wife and gave her the children so that she may keep them safe from the evil King. He instead prepared lamb in lieu of the human ingredient.
