  • The air here must be super clean!
  • 'Yeah, the sky is so clear. I bet it's really healthy for you here.
  • Cities like these are homes to multiple Criteria Air Pollutants.
  • Actually, thats a common misconception about air quality.
  • My pleasure. Now run along and spread awareness of Criteria Air   Pollutants so we can stop them once and for all.
  • Well thank you for informing us Sir. We'll make sure to research topics thoroughly next time before spewing out incorrect information.
  • The six most common pollutants are Carbon Monoxide, Lead, Ozone, Nitrogen Dioxide, Particulate Matter, and Sulfur Dioxide.
  • Criteria Air Pollutants are a set of pollutants that can cause smog, acid rain, and other dangers.
  • These pollutants are responsible for many adverse affects on human health.
  • Well most of these pollutants come from three categories:mobile, area, and point sources.
  • Well how do all of these pollutants get into the air?
  • And finally, point sources, like power plants and factories, produce over 90% of the Sulfur Dioxide in our atmosphere.
  • Area sources, such as small businesses, produce over 50% of the Earth's particulate matter.
  • Mobile sources are things like cars and trucks that contribute to the carbon monoxide pollution.
