This storyboard was created with the intentions of raising awareness about industrial pollution for a school project.
Here we are, in a factory. A "harmless", "clean" factory. Did you know that 1.2 TRILLION tons of untreated industrial waste is pumped back annually into US water supplies?
Farming fertilizers travel down the Mississippi River every year and create a dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico. This is only a small part of the industrial pollution epidemic but it's just as troubling.
This is the dead zone in the Gulf of Mexico. There isn't enough Oxygen in the water for the animals to survive. There is also a lot of pollution in the air because of the toxic gases emitted from factories. We have the power to change this, we just need motivation.
Factories emit harmful gases such as CO2 and SO2. These gases increase the amount of greenhouse gases in our atmosphere which results in global warming. China's coal industry is responsible for 14.3% of global greenhouse gases. All these statistics can be lowered if we put our environment before anything else.
Believe it or not, but light and noise pollution from industries can deeply affect the environment. Not only does the noise humans make affect us, but it also affects animals. Some ways we can prevent light and noise pollution are to turn off appliances when not in use.
If we all lend a helping hand, we can deeply reduce industrial pollution and keep our earth looking as lovely as it does here!
