Storyboard Text

  • Exposition
  • This is stupid!
  • Conflict
  • Fern, don't talk to Charlie like that!
  • GO AWAY
  • Rising action
  • Oh my gosh!
  • Fern was the youngest, at least until her mother accidentally got pregnant with her now three year old brother, Charlie. Sara was the oldest and next was Holden. They owned a restaurant named Harry's, and every year her father came up with a new crazy idea for their family to advertise.
  • Climax
  • It's not your fault!
  • Yes it is!
  • Fern is the one who always has to take care of and watch Charlie. Sometimes she wishes she didn't have a little brother, and she tries to ignore him as he begs her to play and sing with him.
  • Falling action
  • You're just a kid, you don't know what you want!
  • Yes I do!
  • One day Charlie wanted to play with Fern, but she had to do homework. So he started to run toward the parking lot. Fern tried to get to him but he was to fast. A car hit Charlie just enough to knock him over, but as soon as he had fallen he stood up and ran to his mother without even a tear. The next morning when Fern walked by Charlie's room he was motionless, she though he was sleeping but when her mother screamed, she knew he was dead
  • Resolution
  • Fern feels it's her fault that Charlie has died. She feels like she shouldn't ever be happy after the day that Charlie has died. But her mother tries to tell her that it's not her fault as Fern just denies what her mother says. Fern is in a character vs. self conflict.
  • But with all this going on, Holden was going through a tough time after he came out to his dad about being gay. He stormed out of the house and finally his dad excepted who he was and Holden came back home.
  • Although Fern missed Charlie dearly, she learned she could still have fun and live her life to the fullest even though Charlie was no longer with her.
