Old Man And The Sea Story Board By, Preston Phillips (11/09/18)
In the first scene where the boy and Santiago are talking about how they never really had a lucky streak when it came to fish, it shows us another side of the old man. He shows that he acknowledges the strong bond he has between the boy and him.
In the part where he is passed out on the boat after battling with the marlin trying to get it on his boat. We get to really see what's going on in his head. We get to really see why he keeps pushing forward instead of giving up like others would do.
While he passed out we are also told this story about the Old man. This story is the story of how he didn't give up for a whole 24 hours and arm wrestled a man for that entire time. Eventually winning and given the name "Champion."
When he finally showed up on land with his boat and corpse of a fish, to his surprise and all of the readers surprise he was praised. The people of his town missed and admired him. That was his effect on the people around him.
The book ends itself with finally having the old man be able to rest. After pushing through all the struggles and everything that the sea could throw at him, he was finally able to rest.
