Storyboard Text

  • Excuse me Ma'ma is that coal you are burning on?
  • Yes it is, it's quite toasty
  • That's not a good idea ma'ma. The fossil fuels coming from that coal that is burning will leak into the soil and later become acid rain which will pollute the water of that ocean right there and you may not be able to swim here one day.
  • The rain is coming in, I think you should put that out quickley before it drains into the soil
  • I think its ok Sir. The rain will put it all out.
  • You see, there is this thing called the pH scale which contains materials and liquids found on earth and places them on this scale based on the acidity of it. Acid rain has an acidity of about 4.3 which is pretty large .
  • Well what is acid rain?
  • Acid rain is caused by pollution such as fossil fuels being burned, like what you are doing now or unclean cars letting out exhaust The substances mix with oxygen in the atmosphere and later create acid rain. It is damaging to plants, animals, and bodies of water.
  • What does the acid rain do? what is it caused by?
  • Sounds like a great idea! Let me help.
  • Wow I didn't realize how much damage I am causing. I should put this fire out and get rid of the coals to prevent this.
  • Thank you so much!!
