The group that Salva had gone with left him in a barn. He approached and elder women that he stayed with for four days. She decided to leave home even though he had only been with her four four days he did not know what he would do with out her. then that night he heard talking it was a group of Dinka . He went with them . This shows that he is not ready to be on his own yet, he still needs guidance.
Uncle died. The rest of the group is not sharing any food with Salva. He feels stronger. He does not need any one to take care of him any more. He has matured over his journey.
The army chased the people I the refugee camp away. They had to cross the river to get out. The river was known for it's crocodiles many people got killed. The survivors went with Salva to a refugee camp in Kenya. Salva went from depending on his uncle and other people to other people depending on him. He lead 1,500 people to Kenya.
