The process of Photosynthesis
What is photosynthesis? Photosynthesis is the process of a plant making its own food.
In the process of photosynthesis, a plant makes its own food. It needs three (3) essential things to do this: Sunlight, water, and carbon dioxide. If it has all these, it can start the process.
If the plant has all three (3)of these things, then it can start the process of photosynthesis.
A plant also has to breathe. It has a huge amount of stomas on the front part of its leafs. But, unlike humans and animals, they breathe in CO2, which is carbon dioxide, and releases O2, which is oxygen.
Take for example this cat and baby tree. The cat, like all animals, breathes in O2. The tree, as explained before, is taking CO2 in...
The tree is realising O2, so the cat will take it in. Then the cat will release CO2, and the tree will take it... It's a cycle!
The H20 is water, which is in the roots. H20 plus CO2 with sunlight makes the sugar. When a herbivore eats the plant, the sugar is what gives them energy. The extra sugar / glucose becomes starch.
