  • Yeah like a couple years too late
  • France seems nice
  • James the first believes that he gains his power from god and not his subjects. This is called the divine rights of kings.
  • Hey do you want to rule over England for a lil
  • Yeah sure
  • Civil war begins leading to the two sides known as the Cavaliers and the Roundheads to fight for control of the kingdom
  • So uh the divine right of kings and stuff isn't going to be a thing now if you don't mind.
  • Oliver Cromwell wins alongside the Roundheads and demolishes Monarchy until his death in 1658
  • Parlament
  • After the death of Oliver Cromwell, James the II comes to power and resumes monarchy in the government but with little support and a large opposition he is forced to flee to France when Parliament asks William of Orange and Mary Stuart from the Netherlands to rule over England.

  • William and Mary create a constitutional monarchy by creating a new bill of rights completely destroying the Devine Rights of Kings.
  • The Constitutional monarchy is now complete thanks to the new English bill of rights that were created. And there is no longer any Divine rights of kings.
  • Its official, No more divine rights of kings and the monarchy must abide by constitution
