  • born January the 15th 1926 he grew was a baptist church minster and leader of the African American civil rights movement
  • king stated at university where he wrote his first published letter saying blacks are entitled to basic human rights and opportunities
  • king was part of the boycott on buses with Rosa park to stop segregation of black people from white people
  • later in kings life when he stated receiving threatening phone calls this inspired him to do more a few days later his house is bombed
  • later after this incident he was stabbed and hospitalized but still went on to give the i have a dream speech to the 200,000 people were attending a political rally a march on Washington
  • King was arrested for demanding service in a whites only restaurant this was one of his last protests not long after he was assassinated
