Deaf people can now go to school
Thomas Gallaudet travels all the way to England for help from Braidwood but they refuse to teach him for selfish reason. They agree to lend him a teacher, Laurent Clarc, for 3 years.
In 1817, the first American school for the deaf was founded with Alice being the first student to enroll.
After the school opened, many others stared to open up throughout the years. ASL became more widespread a interpreted throughout society.
