  • Did you know human sperm and egg are different to other human cells because they have only 23 chromosome that is present in the nucleus?
  • There are 23 chromosomes in the sperm and there are 23 in the egg and hen those chromosomes combine it adds up to 46 and that is where fertilization starts
  • And when they are combined the chromosomes make a copy of themself and each new pair are called a pair of sister chromatids. When they finish doing that they line up in the middle of the cell, the sister chromatids are separated to opposite ends of the cell.
