  • Miles, our main character decides to go to a boarding school because he wants to try to find himself. He is surrounded with new people and things that aren't common in his home town in Florida.
  • Climax
  • The main conflict in the book is that Alaska doesn't love Miles back. Miles does everything he can but Alaska is in love with her boyfriend Jake.
  • Falling Action
  • Alaska, Miles, and Colonel decide that they're going to all hangout together and drink. They all decide to go to Miles and Colonel's dorm room. Eventually, Colonel gets so drunk that he passes out. Alaska and Miles are alone. Therefore, they end up kissing while playing truth or dare, despite the fact that Alaska has a boyfriend. 
  • Resolution
  • I love you Alaska Young
  • On the night of, Alaska gets very drunk. After she falls asleep, she wakes up in a panic. Then, she wakes up Miles. She says that she needs to leave. So, he lets her go. She gets in her car drunk, then she drives off. As she's driving she gets into a fatal car crash with a police officer.
  • After everyone finds out Alaska is dead they try to find why she died. Everyone was torn on if it was an accident or suicide.
  • In the end, the big question, "How do you find your way out of a labyrinth?" was solved. After Alaska's death, Miles kept trying to figure out how she got out of hers. Eventually, Miles finds out how to get out of the labyrinth he was living in; live life the way you want and he finishes writing his paper. Although he didn't want to forget Alaska he knew that he had to.
