  • Prisoner longs to get out. Has been plotting for years but has not quite found the perfect opportunity. Guard hates his job but tries to hide it. Takes it out on prisoners. Still a hard determined worker.
  • Climax
  • Receives information of a way of escape. Needs to construct a drill to make hole below bed.  Guard doesn't notice but still cracks down hard on prisoners and suspects that they are devising a plan.
  • Falling Action
  • Prisoner needs to collect the parts to construct the drill while keeping the hole hidden from the guard. Guard appears to be doing everything he can to stop them but is helping them without them realizing.
  • Resolution/ Conclusion
  • 
  • Prisoner finishes making hole that drops down to the patio outside where he can hop the fence and escape. Power goes out right as he finishes drilling right as there is a power outage. Interprets it as luck. Guard notices he is escaping and he turns off the power.
  • Prisoner escapes and lies low living contently Guard finally quits his job
  • Prisoner years later realizes that the Guard was helping him.  Guard used turning off the power as the perfect cover to say he was stopping the drilling but was helping the prisoner to escape.
