  • It the late 1800s an industrial boom swept across america. Factories and mills sprung up in cities and towns(pg.11)
  • The air inside the factories contained dust and lint which often led to children getting sick.
  • *coughs*
  • In the early 1900s in was common to hire children to work in factories because owners could pay them less than adults. The smaller the kid the smaller the pay.
  • By 1904 more than 1.5 million kids were working for America. The spend long hours working in dangerous conditions.(pg.13)
  • The National Child Labor Committee was created in 1904. They vowed to end child labor.
