  • George Washington was born on Feburary 22,1732 in Wakefield Farm , In westmore land 
  • George Washington father was Augustine Washington who was a prosperous farmer and owned several plantations in the colony of Virginia. From his first marriage Augustine had two sons Lawrence and Augustine. George was the first child born to Augustine second wife , Mary Bell Washington . At the time the family was living at wake field farm in west more land country , Virginia . His parents have 5 more children 3 boys and 2 girls . They moved several times during his childhood . 
  •  By the time   George was   eleven, his parents   had   five more children, 3 boys and 2 girls. George's   family moved several times during his   childhood.George’s mother was a troubled person, and this affected her children. Mary Ball Washington was the child of a marriage between a wealthy gentleman who married a family housemaid who had no education. It was a legitimate marriage, so Mary eventually inherited land, slaves, and money from her father, but she was ill-prepared to step into the role of mother and mistress of a successful household. 
  • George was eleven when his father died in 1743. Augustine Washington provided a parcel of land to each of his sons, leaving Ferry Farm and ten slaves to George, to be inherited when he turned 21. George's mother managed the farm until he came of age. You can read Augustine Washington's will and probate inventory.
  • Washington served as a general and commander - in-chief of the colonial armies during the american Revelotion, and later became the first President of the United States , serving from 1789 to 1797 . 
  • The cause of George Washington's death was a throat infection. On December 12,Washington was out on horseback supervising farm activities and it began to snow. ... His conditioned worsened and late in the evening on December 14, 1799, George Washington died of quinsy.
