- Texas Is Free to rule on It's own. I surrender to the Texas Militia and under these conditions I will be sent back to Mexico city under Texas soldiers surveillance and shall not try to retake Texas for the Mexican Republic again. I have surrendered to the Military's leader, Sam Houston at the San Janicito River and have disgraced my country.
