The French and English mostly lived on the Atlantic Coast. They lived among the Native Americans who previously already inhabited the area.
The French made peace with the natives. They befriended them and even intermarried. While, the English saw the natives as lower class and they chased them away from the settlement they would build.
There was a lot of tension between the Natives, France against the British . This led to the King of England securing a grant for the Ohio Company in America of 200 acres of land that was already claimed by the French. In result the French built forts along this land.
