  • The Children Who Escaped the Nazis
  • By Hiya Khan
  • The Kindertransport operation was a miracle. But with every miracle in life, there is always a sacrifice.
  • I'll miss you
  • It is for the best
  • Lore finds it difficult to adjust and do well in school (learning a new language was harder than she thought) but is determined to have a new life with Mr. and Mrs. Schreiber. Maybe even find a life for her parents.
  • I know it's hard to adjust, but have fun, Lore
  • Good ... um... Bye
  • I miss my parents... I'll get them back one day
  • Disaster strikes. Dreams shattered children all over the U.K, including Lore's. Britain entered  the war, and Lore has no chance of ever seeing her parents
  • We are so sorry, Lore.
  • No!
  • Everything I worked on. Ruined!
  • Lore knew that her parents wanted to succeed and she has the ability to do so. So she begins to plan herself a future.
  • I won't mope around anymore. I need to step up. It is what my mom and dad would want
  • Lore spends time and the military to serve for what she knew is right. She went on to be a seamstress and made many friends. She told those around her about her struggles and how she, and so many others, were able to escape the Nazis and live on to tell the tale.
