When we were kids little girls wanted long beautiful hair and boys wanted to be big and strong. While there was still ideals being self conscious or wanting to change their appearance doesn't hold kids back.
How are images manipulated?
Appearance pressure come from media 99% of the time. We are constantly reminded of the perfect face and body and how we need to look to be accepted. Models and photoshop provide unrealistic ideals for men and women.
What can you do about this?
Media is anything such as pictures or information that is advertised to the public. Whether it be the form of social media, magazines or TV media effects how we see things and sets standards of many aspects of life.

Images are often photoshopped to fit ridiculous beauty standards. Models are edited making the images we see physically unattainable. This is an issue because in most peoples minds what we see in pictures how we should look and if they are photo shopped it is unhealthy to try and achieve that goal.
We can do a lot to help with appearance pressures. Big companies need to bring diversity in their models and stop photoshopping. The biggest thing that each individual can do is be confident in their own skin and not spend their whole life worrying what others think.
