  • "Fortunato! How are you?"
  • "Montresor! Good evening, my friend."
  •                 Conflict
  • "To your vaults to taste wine."
  • Rising Action
  • In the story Montresor is an enemy looking for revenge and Fortunato is the clueless wine taster.Montresor is furious at Forunato for laughing at his family name and plans a scheme of revenge.Fortunato unaware of the plan falls right in.
  • Climax
  • Montresor is the protagonist and Fortunato is the antagonist. Montresor leads Furtunato in to a revenge plot and goes just how he wanted it.
  • Falling Action
  • "Montrestor! For the love of God!!"
  • Montresor claims to have a valued wine and convinces Fortunato to head into his catacombs. Fortunato has no clue what's going on around him.
  • Resolution
  • Montrestor chains up Fortunato to the wall of the catacombs. While Fortunato pleads for mercy Montrestor began to stacks stones to cover the hole in the wall where Fortunato is chained at.
  • "Montrestor! What are you doing!?"
  • Montrestor sets the last stone to the wall. Fortunato continues to plead for mercy.
  • Montrestor moves bones that have not been touched for half a centuries in front of the wall. He walks out and innocent man. "May he rest in peace!"
