Through engineering experiments, students were able to learn and use mathematics concepts. They succeeded in noticing the math as it was embedded naturally in the experiments. This helped them better understand the natural connection of engineering and math.
In CI 370, we will be expected to plan and teach lessons that incorporate engineering. We will need to consider what math will go along with the engineering experiments and tasks we plan to ensure that it is developmentally appropriate for the Ss we have. We should also consider how students can make natural connections with math through the experiments we design.

As a future teacher, it is important to understand that I'm not "using precious instruction time" to incorporate engineering. It easily and practically connects with other subjects that would typically be considered vital to school, like with math, as this article showed.
