Gatsby, Nick, and Jordan all attend a lunch at the Buchanans. Daisy cries to Tom to make them all cold drinks. As he left to go do so, Daisy surprised everyone by giving Gatsby a kiss, and murmuring her love for him.
"You know I love you"
Tom had heard Daisy confess her love for Gatsby. After Daisy mentions going to town, Tom suddenly gets more aggressive and irritated.
"Come on! If we're going to town, let's start."
"Let's all go to town!"
As they made their way to town, Tom decided he wanted to take Gatsby's car. Meanwhile, Gatsby and Daisy are alone, traveling in Tom's car.
"Listen Tom. If you're such a snob, why did you invite him to lunch?"
"Daisy invited him; she knew him before we were married--God knows where!"
After some time driving, both cars came to a stop. They discussed where they'd like to meet up, but Daisy made the decision to ride along with Gatsby a bit longer.
"We'll ride around and meet you after."
As they arrive at the Plaza Hotel, a dispute between Tom and Gatsby breaks out over who they believe Daisy loves and who she belongs with.
"Your wife doesn't love you! She loves me!"
"Daisy loved me when she married me and she still loves me now!"
As the fight finishes up, Gatsby and Daisy decide to leave the others and head back to town. Tom, Nick, and Jordan stay behind.
"No...I just remembered that today's my birthday."
