French and Indian War-1st tier. The French and Native Americans fought over land west of the Appalachians. This is 1st tier because without it there would be no protesting
Proclamation of 1763- 1st tier This said that colonists could not settle west of the Appalachians-the land they fought for. This is 1st tier because the war wouldn't of happened without it, it was the first thing protested over.
Colonists may not settle west of the Appalachians!
Writ of Assistance- 2nd tier. A writ of assistance was a document that gave British officials permission to search homes for smuggled goods. 2nd tier because while it did make colonists angry they wouldn't go to war over it.
Sugar Act-2nd tier. The sugar act lowered the tax on sugar but also let British officials search houses without going to court. 2nd tier, the colonists were angry but wouldn't go to war.
Townshend Act-2nd Tier This act taxed all imported goods to the colonies. 2nd t.ier because the colonists wouldn't want to go to war over this made it pushed their buttons
Tea Act- 2nd tier. The tea act gave Britain a monopoly on tea. 2nd tier, as the colonists protested over this act tremendously, but it didn't cause them to go to war.
