Storyboard Text

  • Hi I'm Antoine Laurent Lavoisier, but you can just call me Antoine. I will be teaching you about the Law of Conservation of Mass.
  • The Law of Conservation of Mass states that mass cannot be created or destroyed.
  • But What does that mean?
  • In 1785 many chemist believed that when something was burned it's mass would change.
  • Through a series of experiments I managed to capture all by products of a chemical reaction a measure them I discovered that when matter changes state it does not lose or gain mass.
  • Ok, I understand when matter changes from a solid to a liquid, a liquid to a gas or a gas to a solid it's weight might change but its mass doesn't.
