In the town of Athens Hermia wants to marry Lysander, but Egeus her father wants Hermia to marry Demetrius. She is forced to marry Demetrius, die, or become a nun. Hermia will have to tell Theseus, the king of Athens, her response by Thursday.
Act 3: Climax
Lysander and Hermia discuss how they still are in love. They decide to run away to the forest near his aunts house to get married.
Act 4: Falling Action
Puck, the king of the fairies, was directed to put a love potion onto Titania and onto an Athenian man. This potion was to help make Demetrius fall in love with Helena. Puck accidently put the lotus flower love potion onto Lysander instead of Demetrius. Helena woke Lysander up when she was in the forest and this caused him to fall in love with her.
Act 5: Resolution
Now that Demetrius and Lysander are both in love with Helena there is a lot of chaos and fighting between the four of them. Puck realizes the mistake he has made and devises a plan to put an antidote on Lysanders eyes to reverse the effect of the love potion. This will make Lysander fall back in love with Hermia and Demetrius will stay loving Helena.
They are found in the woods by Egeus, Theseus, and Hippolyta. Their love is found out about. They decide to have a triple wedding.
The three couples get married and live happily ever after.
