The Journey of a Kurdish Mother and a Son

Mom: Son, we better get going we still have 500 miles to travel. Son: Fine. Narrator: This Kurdish mother and son are beginning a physical and spiritual journey to Mecca.
Mom: It's time to fill up your canteen, because it could be a while before we stop for water again. Mom: Because we are Kurdish and travel a lot. Son: ok. Narrator: Kurdish people travel a lot. They are the largest ethnic group without a country.
Mom: Son, we have to practice our religion. Son: I just want to go to Mecca. Narrator: The mother and son are Sunni Muslims .
Mom: Son, I am going to give you a pop quiz. The question is what are the four countries Kurds travel through in their life time. Son: Kurdistan AKA Iran, Iraq, Turkey, and Syria. Narrator: The Kurds do travel in all four of those countries over there lifetime.
Mom: Son, I know you just want to stay in one place, but we are the biggest ethnic group with out a country. Son: I know, I just wish we had our own country. Narrator: The son has the same wish as many other Kurds.
