Storyboard Text

  • Who is that?
  • I need more money to pay of my taxes but I need food. I'm so hungry.
  • The slaves were brought to the new world by kidnapping and being shipped away on a boat . The kidnappers rounded up people using nets and other tools. People were loaded onto a boat. Out of the 10 to 16 million people that survived 1/3 of them ended up in South America.
  • The days for a slave were extremely long. Working on a sugar plantation was very hard. You get whipped brutally. But you had more rights than a North American slave. You could buy your freedom and get married
  • Although you had more freedoms in South America, it wasn't all great. Taxes were a lot higher and it was extremely hard to purchase your way out of slavery.
