This is my homework on the background of El Salvador
From 1821-1881 the community shared the land, Happily.
We are Starving!
This isnt fair!
In 1881 the right to share land was banned . This meant that few powerful land owners were able to monopolise the coffee plantations
The farmers were forced into working long hours. With conditions such as extreme poverty and starvation. For very little pay.
There was a massive decrease in coffee prices so the rich farmers stopped harvesting the coffee. Which lead to the poor farmers not getting money to buy food. So the poor farmers held protests.
In the uprisng of peasent farmers in 1929 resulted in the number of Military regimes which lasted up to 50 years. Many peasent farmers were murdered, beated or impriosned for protesting. Not many people lived in El Salvador apart from rich families and peasent farmers under control of the military.
The punishments that the Military gave the peasent farmers were;Torture,Beatings,Abduction,Rape, People Disapering and general harrasments.
