In 1833, 20-year-old uni student, Frèdrèc Ozanam decided that he wanted to help the impoverished people living in slums in Paris, France. This thought led to the creation of the organization St Vincent De Paul.
Nowadays, all volunteers at Vinnies reach out to those in need through special works, conferences and Vinnies shops. They help the unemployed with assisting them with everyday needs and utility bills. Basic needs like sleeping gear, food and water are also given to the homeless.
They live the good news by serving Christ in the poor with love, respect, justice, hope, and joy. They aspire to shape a more just and compassionate community. They have followed in Jesus' footsteps by helping the poor.
