The New Colossus by Emma Lazarus
New Colossus From this I can infer that there is something new and great. Better than things from in the past.
Her name is mother of exiles. Her torch says Welcome to all Her eyes look over two cities "Keep, ancient lands, you storied pomp" she says without saying. Send those in danger to me, to the welcome land
Not like the greek who has amazing landmarks all over their land Here on the sea, with the beautiful sunset A strong wome With a lightning inspired torch
We see it welcomes people moving to america from all over the world
It is obvious the poem is talking about the statue of liberty but when you read farther into it, you see the meaning of the statue of liberty.
The tone of the story changes. At the beginning it is serious then moves to happy
They make the statue of liberty sound beautiful, breath taking, and powerful
"Keep ancient lands, your storied pomp"
The shift of the story happens when lady liberty stats talking. We are being told about her then she starts talking.
