  • Scene 3: Macbeth receives word that there are 10,000 English army soldiers coming. The doctor tells Macbeth that Lady Macbeth isn't sick with an illness but with visions.
  • Let every soldier hew him down a bough and bear ’t before him. Thereby shall we shadow. The numbers of our host and make discovery err in report of us.
  • It shall be done.
  • Scene 4: Malcolm orders his soldiers to take a branch and carry it so Macbeth cannot tell how many soldiers there actually are.
  • Liar and slave!
  • As I did stand my watch upon the hill, I looked toward Birnam, and anon methought, the wood began to move.
  • Scene 5: Lady Macbeth is dead, although sad, Macbeth stays calm. A messenger tells Macbeth that Birnam woods have began to move. Macbeth doesn't believe the messenger.
