storyboard for social studies.
Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime whereof the party shall have been duly convicted, shall exist within the United States, or any place subject to their jurisdiction. Abraham Lincoln
Why does this change anything?
We're FREE! We're FREE!
The 13th Amendment: No slavery or involuntary servitude shall exist in the US, except in punishment.
Because the 13th Amendment has stated that we no longer are slaves but freedmen.
You are free to live as white men do: not bound to work for the rest of your life as property, but free to live as a person should.
It might take a while, but the US will embrace you more and more as a person and not as property.
