I published this book, I hope this will bring a message to the people.
In 1851 an anti-slavery book was published by Harriet Beecher Stowe, it was called Uncle Tom's Cabin.
In the south, the book was met with outrage and branded in irresponsible.
No one is allowed to read this book!! It's outrageous!
In the North, readers became aware of the horrors of slavery on a far more personal level than before.
Oh my! Slavery is awful!!
Yeah! Slaves are being treated terribly down in the South!!
Stowe's family were abolitionists. She was horrified about stories of slaves being beaten, starved, and sold from their familys.
It's a shame.
Not too well, some have been beaten, starved and even sold away from their families.
How are slaves being treated down in the South?
We need to do something about those poor slaves.
Over time, Stowe's book has made a lot of "achievements". In the north the book has increased anti-slavery feeling to people. In the south, it's been strongly criticized and banned also prompted rival accounts. The book was the most famous and influential anti-slavery novel.
Yes very much agreed.
The northern people need to leave us alone!
This book is ruining every thing for us !
Over the years, President Abraham Lincoln had a meeting with Ms.Stowe.
" So you're the little woman who wrote the book that made this great war?"
