  • Mrs. Ledgerwood asked how we get a stomach ache in her anticipartory set as Alexander gets a really bad stomach ache in our story.

  • Going over the vocabulary words turned out to be boring for some students and a bit confusing for others.

  • Mrs. Ledgerwood read us the story and we loved it! She asked us questions about the story and asked us our predictions of what might happen in the story.
  • The students wrote words from the story on post-it notes and put them on the ABC chart. They really enjoyed this.
  • Once the ABC chart was finished, the students told Mrs. Ledgerwood the order the words should go in. Alexander ate donuts at the very beginning of the story, so the post-it that says donuts was put at the beginning of the timeline.
