Henry Hudson and his son were hired by the Dutch East India Company and England to find a shorter way to Asia without icebergs. The hudsons went on 4 voyages looking for a route to Asia.
On his first voyage he came across a section of river which would later be called "The Hudson River". This was thought to bring the ship to Asia, it ended up leading no where.
The Hudsons came across a bay full of resources. This bay would later be named Hudsons Bay.
We shall call it Hudsons Bay
At this time the fur trade was huge, this bay housed many beavers. This was one of the reasons England colonized parts of Canada.
Henry Hudson was leading his crew on a wild goose chase looking for a passage to Asia. Henry Hudson refused to go back to England empty handed. His crew got frustrated and through HEnry , his son, and 7 people from his crew overboard. They were left to die of scurvy in a small row boat.
