I'II trade you this can of green beans for that watch
When the Morales family Mom and Dad are both gone Alex, the oldest, decides to go to Yankee Stadium where New York City is putting the dead bodies of women. Alex does not find his moms body which could be a good thing. Alex had no way of trying to look for his dad because he was in San Juan for a funeral.
Father Franco told Alex and his sister Bri that there is a camp for Catholic girls that he would love her to go to. They would work on a farm, and most importantly get fed. Alex sent Bri to the camp because he was afraid that they would not have enough food for the three of them. He was hoping that they would allow Julie too because it would be the best thing for them but she was too young.
Alex made a friend named Kevin that introduced him to something called body shopping. They would go around New York City and look for dead bodies. If they had any thing valuable on them including clothes, watches, or guns they would take them and go to Harvey and trade them in for more useful things. At first Alex didn't like the idea of taking peoples things but after awhile he got use to it and had no other choice.
Alex and Kevin met at their regular time and went body shopping. They knew that it would be harder to find bodies because of the snow. Not only would most of the bodies be covered, their was so much snow that it would be very difficult to walk. When they were walking, a tree branch fell on Kevin and Alex was to weak to pull it off of him. Kevin went head first in the snow and with the scarf around his neck he wasn't able to breath. By the time Alex got him out Kevin was dead.
When the elevator was working Bri went to the church. In the elevator ride the electricity went off and it stopped. By the time Alex went to look for her the electricity was back on so they wanted to take the elevator down to the main floor. Julie thought it was weird that the elevator wasn't on the twelfth floor already because they were the only ones left in the building. When the door opened Bri was in their, dead. Alex put Bri in their old apartment on the top bunk closer to heaven.
